Dermaplaning

£90

Dermaplaning is performed using a scalpel to manually exfoliate dead skin cells from the face. It is a physical exfoliation method that requires the use of a sterile surgical scalpel to gently shave the top layer of the skin, the stratum corneum, dead skin layer, and vellus hair, aka peach fuzz. This treatment results in ultra-smooth, fresh, and brighter skin.

By removing that dead layer and hair from the face, the skin is evened out, and it helps with cell metabolism, which helps new skin come to the surface.

Pros:
  • It painlessly exfoliates the stratum corneum to stimulate cellular turnover with little to no downtime.

  • It is a great option for clients with sensitive skin and pregnant women who are looking for a deep exfoliation.

  • It can be performed prior to treatments like facials, laser, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels for better product penetration.

  • It can be performed frequently.

  • It helps makeup go on smoother and more evenly.

  • It can help significantly lighten post inflammatory scars from past acne.

  • It does not make the hair grow back thicker and darker.

  •

Please consider:
  • The results will not be as long-lasting as other hair-removal methods, such as waxing, as the hair is not removed from the root.

  • Results will differ depending on a your individual hair-growth cycle.

  • Not everyone is a candidate. Clients with active and cystic acne should avoid this type of hair removal, as it can cause further irritation. Also, it is contraindicated for clients with hirsutism, a condition of excessive male-pattern hair growth in women

Microneedling Facial

£170

What is a Microneedling Facial?

After a double cleanse the skin is lightly numbed before applying an enzyme peel to buff off any surface dead skin. A bespoke cocktail of serums is applied to the skin before the electronic needling machine is moved methodically over the face.

You might feel warmth or a scratching sensation on your face once the microneedling starts. Some people feel discomfort if the needles are near bony areas, such as your cheekbones. Deep microneedling might cause a little bleeding.

What are the benefits of an Microneedling?

Microneedling can help improve the appearance and texture of your skin. It can minimise stretch marks, scars, wrinkles and other skin concerns.

It doesn’t carry the risk of skin discolouration, unlike some facial rejuvenation procedures that use heat, light or lasers. This makes microneedling ideal for people with darker skin tones.

Who is a good candidate for a Microneedling Facial?

Any client who wishes to improve the appearance of the skins surface, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, dull/tired skin and damaged pigmentation.

What are the risks associated with Microneedling?

Microneedling treatments are usually very safe, with minimal risks, this is provided the treatment is performed by a fully qualified and trained practitioner. After all treatments, high SPF protection is essential to protect the new skin surface.

What can I expect after Microneedling?

In the days and weeks after microneedling, you might notice that your skin burns or feels tight. Some people also have dry, flaking skin, however with the post procedural kit given, this will be at a minimum.

Most people need multiple microneedling treatments, usually 8 weeks apart. It can take 3 months to 6 months to see results. Afterward, you might need the procedure once a year for maintenance.

After every treatment, full after care advice will be given to every client. We are always on hand to answer any questions or concerns and to give advice or follow up appointments to all our clients.

AlumierMD Chemical Peel

£120

AlumierMD Chemical Peel

An in-depth consultation will determine which of the 3 medium strength peels will best help your skin concerns. Any masks or pre treatments will also applied to this bespoke advanced skin treatment. This treatment includes a post procedural kit.

What is a chemical peel?

Chemical peels cause intentional damage to the epidermis and/or dermis with the goal of stimulating new tissue to improve skin texture and tone.

Chemical peels have been used dating back to Ancient Egypt. Cleopatra used sour milk to improve the appearance of her skin, according to some sources. Lactic acid (an alpha hydroxy acid) is the active ingredient in sour milk.

How can chemical peels benefit the skin?

Chemical peels improve skin texture and firmness, decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. Peels also even out skin tone, improve acne-prone skin and reduce pore size appearance.

How are chemical peels classified?

Chemical peels are classified as superficial, medium or deep, depending on the depth of penetration of the ingredients used. Superficial peels exfoliate to various levels of the epidermis. Medium-depth peels treat through the papillary dermis and deep peels to the mid-reticular dermis. The strength of a chemical peel is determined by the type of ingredients used, their concentrations and the pH of the formulation.

How do superficial chemical peels work?

Superficial chemical peels decrease the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, inducing exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. This process causes superficial layers of dead skin to peel off, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion. Chemical peels can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume and stimulate collagen.

Superficial peels rarely cause side effects. However, hyperpigmentation can still occur with darker skin types.

How do medium and deep chemical peels work?

Medium and deep chemical peels cause protein coagulation and cell necrosis (cell death) in the epidermis and dermis. This induces inflammation and the wound-healing cascade, which leads to dermal regeneration including collagen stimulation. Since medium and deep chemical peels treat through to the dermis, re-epithelialization starts from the epidermal lining of hair follicles outwards. Medium and deep chemical peels require more downtime and carry with them a higher chance of side effects including hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, infection and scars.

Steam Extraction Facial

£90

A deep cleansing treatment that includes steaming to open pores, to manually extract any blackheads or blocked pores.

A gentle enzyme peel is then applied. Followed by a hydrating Alumier mask, vit a serum, and serums. Perfect for those clients who suffer with blackheads or want a deep clean.

Cryotherapy Blemish Removal

£65

Using the cryotherapy pen, a blast of freezing air bursts skin cells that then die and fall off, with no breaking of the skins surface. Can be used for skin tags, sun spots, growths, cherry angioma, milia, warts and verrucas.

Risks and Side Effects

Cryotherapy has been established to be very safe. However, be prepared for the following:

  • Slight discomfort during the procedure – As with most lesion treatments, you’ll feel some slight discomfort through the process. The discomfort usually feels like the pressure of a pen being pressed against your skin. However, unless you have a problem such as a skin allergy, it will only last a few seconds. Generally, no topical anaesthesia (or numbing cream) is required before treatment.

  • Mild stinging following the procedure – Immediately after the procedure, you will likely experience mild to medium stinging that may last for several minutes to an hour. Again, don’t be too worried about the stinging as it goes away naturally.

  • Sores and blisters – Rarely, the skin where the lesion was treated, usually becomes sore, red, weepy and blistered. It may sting for an hour or so after treatment. Often a scab will form in the following days. This is common where deep freezing is used and may cause pain immediately after the treatment. The practitioner may recommend topical or oral pain killers to relieve discomfort if required. It is important not to scratch or pick at a scab as this can lead to scarring.

Post Procedural

The treated lesions should completely heal within 6 weeks and scabs formed around the lesion will shed after a week to 10 days. Lesions on the leg take the longest time to heal. Some people may develop a temporary change in skin colour (pigmentation) or slight scarring in the treated area – pigment change is more common in darker skin types and may not be temporary. Hair follicles can be damaged by cryotherapy so if the lesion is within an area of hair, such as on the scalp, then a small amount of hair loss may occur. Rarely there is potential for superficial nerve damage, depending on the location of the treated lesion. This may cause a temporary feeling of numbness or tingling in the area which may last for a few months. If a treated lesion does not heal as expected, or there is pain or redness after a few days, then you should contact the practitioner again as these could be signs of an infection.

Important Information

Firstly, it is essential that correct diagnosis of a lesion is carried out before treatment because some lesions can be related to cancer and it is quite easy to confuse these with ordinary, benign lesions. So, the expert advice of a doctor or dermatologist is needed as Cryotherapy Blemish Removal cannot be used to treat cancerous lesions. If you are concerned about a lesion, or it has changed in any way recently, please speak to your GP as a first port of call.

Secondly, removal may not be done if the lesions are too close to delicate structures of the body such as the eyes.

Carbon Laser Peel

£100 (coming soon)

What is a Carbon Laser Peel?

A Carbon Laser Peel is a revolutionary laser treatment that is suitable for all skin problems. It deeply exfoliates and resurfaces, leaving you with smoother and plumper looking skin. This treatment is popularly known as 'The Hollywood Peel', giving you 4 peels in 1, helping to revitalise your skin with minimal to no downtime.

How does the Carbon Laser Peel work?

The laser energy works in two ways: it gently targets the melanin (pigmentation) in the cells, breaking it down for your body's natural removal processes. It then penetrates deep into the skins dermis causing the skin to contract and stimulate collagen. A thin layer of liquid Carbon is applied to the skin, penetrating deep into the pores. The laser is passed over the area, it destroys the Carbon, also removing dead skin cells, bacteria and oil with it. Although it 'zaps' across the face, you feel nothing more than a tingle with minimal downtime.

What does a Carbon Laser Peel Facial Do?
  • Improves Skin Texture

  • Tightens enlarged pores

  • Reduces acne, scars & pigmentation

  • Stimulates Collagen Regrowth

  • Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles

  • Clears pores reducing blackheads
